Abstract
Environmental protection is a key area in which a material like TiO2 is playing a pivotal role. This study deals with the synthesis and characterisation of nano titania and titania fibre using a simple method. A comparative study of photo catalytic activity on the degradation of dye (Rhodamine B) in sunlight as well as using UV light was studied using TiO2 nano particles, nanofibre and industrial titania. TiO2 nano particle and nano-fibre were synthesized using Sol gel process and hydrothermal process respectively. Characterisation of the synthesised materials was done by IR, UV, SEM, XRD and TG studies.
