Abstract
Energy crises are on their way, but efforts towards preventing them have already
started such as creating devices that convert renewable energy sources into electrical
power and other forms. DSSC is an efficient third-generation solar cell based thin
layer technology due to its low assembly cost, light weight, flexibility and environmentally
friendliness. A semiconductor–electrolyte interface makes up the junction of this
photo-electrochemical cell. In the present work, a paste of TiO2 nanoparticles has
been used for the semiconductor layer and iodide/triiodide (I-/I-3) redox mediator.
Solution was prepared for the electrolyte and for photosensitizer, mixer of two
organic dyes. Brilliant green and Bromocresol green was used in this work.
Photoconversion efficiency (η) and optical parameters like UV and SEM were measured
by preparing solution in three different solvents. It was observed that the highest
result was obtained in ethanol solvent which was 1.02%. This study briefly describes
the performance of mixer of two organic dyes in three different solvents.
